Certified Industrial Hygienist

Global Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Certified Industrial Hygienist for our office located in Washington DC. Responsibilities will encompass guidance and coordination of safety and industrial hygiene programs. The qualified applicant will support existing contracts with Federal, State and Local Government agencies, including the U.S. Department of State, General Service Administration, and Department of Defense.
EDUCATION: BS or MS degrees in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or related science field.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus.

Knowledgeable in Government regulations, professional association recommendations, risk communication, public outreach and negotiations.
Ability to operate Industrial Hygiene Monitoring Equipment.

Experience in consulting is highly desired, Federal program experience is a plus.

Industrial Hygiene Technician

Global Consulting, Inc. seeks an Industrial Hygiene Technician to work in Greenbelt, Maryland
JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB DUTIES: Conduct hazardous materials abatement monitoring in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines and under the supervision of certified industrial hygienist. Plan and conduct investigations to identify and evaluate potential and existing occupational health hazards and the adequacy of control measures. Incidental travel to client sites. Perform environmental sampling, including air, water, soil and/or sediment sampling for hazardous materials in accordance with applicable protocols. Ship media samples to certified laboratories under strict chain-of-custody procedures. Respond to and investigate indoor air quality complaints, and coordinate with facility personnel to develop and implement corrective actions. Provide technical input to management personnel, supervisors, and co-workers on industrial hygiene matters. Maintain field records and data in a clear and concise manner and write work reports.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have an Associate’s Degree.
