SUMMARY

Global is providing industrial hygiene and environmental services to the US Department of State (DOS) at posts worldwide. Services under this $3M contract have been provided in more than 180 countries through over 200 individual tasks.

We have performed asbestos surveys in embassies, consulate buildings, support facilities, residences, and short-term rental properties. Inspections are performed in accordance with AHERA protocols. Lead-based paint surveys are conducted as needed at residences.

Asbestos management plans are developed from the survey data for any site where asbestos is detected. Hazards posed by the asbestos materials are evaluated. Recommendations are made for immediate abatement of any high hazard materials, and repair or O&M of less hazardous materials.

Additionally, Global provides environmental oversight of asbestos abatement projects, including air monitoring and project oversight to ensure compliance with federal regulations, host country regulations, and project specifications.

Underground and above ground storage tank systems are monitored and evaluated to determine contaminate migration from leakages and the need for remediation.

Furthermore, we maintain a customized environmental data management program to track and report, in an integrated format, data from our field projects, AutoCAD® drawings of the buildings, and photographs. This allows instantaneous desktop display and manipulation of the data at personal computers in numerous DOS facilities. The database is updated upon completion of asbestos abatement or renovation projects to maintain current information.

Some of the other services provided on this contract include mold inspection, radon testing, drinking water sampling, environmental site assessments and indoor air quality assessments.
